Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks

Hey Beauty Lovers!
Today I'm reviewing the Jeffree Star Velour
Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Anna Nicole and Masochist.
Also for swatching purposes I am a NW10-13 at MAC and pretty much the lightest shade in every other foundation.

These are my first JS Lipsticks and have so far been loving them!

The JS lipsticks were the first liquid lipstick that I had ever tried. I only purchased these about a month ago.

I purchased these from Makeup Net Australia for $15. They were on sale so I was very lucky to get these. Makeup Net no longer sell JS but I just thought I'd mention them.

If you want to know any information
about Jeffree, visit his website or Instagram.

Masochist - The color of crushed berries on ice. Dark Pink, cool toned matte.

This color is so beautiful... nothing that I have ever owned or seen.

Anna Nicole - Orangey-red matte.

This colour is quite bright but really fun and pretty.

Descriptions from Jeffree Star Cosmetics

I recommend using a lip scrub with the lipsticks.
It gets rid of any unwanted dead/dry skin so the lipstick won't create any texture
on the lips.
My favourite is Lush's Mint Julips.

Top - Anna Nicole
Bottom- Masochist

Pigmentation: These colours are so pigmented. One swipe is really all you need. Ive heard/seen that some shades can be a little patchy, but definitely not with these two.

Colours: Ever since Jeffree's Masochist came out, it's been on my list! Its such a beautiful unique colour, nothing like I've ever seen before!
Anna Nicole is bright, but I've always wanted to try an orangey-red and I find it goes so well with my skin tone.
As for the rest of the collection JS has so many unique colours ranging from, blues, green, purples, reds and pinks.
Id love to see a few more 'everyday' colours added to the collection as well.

Application and Lasting time: As I said before these lipsticks apply in one swipe. The doe foot applicator makes it so easy and fits to the curve of your lips. Using a lip scrub before hand removes any dead/dry skin and it makes applying the lipstick smoother and easier. As for the lasting time these sat on my lips for about 3.5 - 4 hours before I could start feeling them there, but they don't budge and can stay on for a lot longer.

Removal:  I thought I'd do a separate review for removal. These seriously don't move! It's frustrating that its hard to take off, but thats the point! There meant to have awesome staying power and I can definitely say they do. I recommend using olive oil to remove or an oil based product as it helps 'break down' the product for easy removal.

Packaging: The tube that the lipsticks come in are just gorgeous! So sleek and so Jeffree!! The pink top surprising looks good with every shade and I think its a great way to distinguish Jeffree's product from the rest! Of course it wouldn't be JS without a little bling as well, the gold/rose gold writing and stars are a great touch!
As for the boxes they come in... they are just as gorgeous! Same pink and gold design as well, with the name of the shade on the top of the box.

Price:  These lipsticks from the JS website retail for $18 USD (coverts to around $25 AUD) and international shipping is $10.95 USD (Around $15 AUD). I think for the quality of the product its an amazing price for what you get. As for the cost of shipping.. i think its pretty fair, you can buy as much product as you want for the same shipping cost as its not based on weight.

Overall Score: 9.8 / 10 - I love love love these lipsticks! I think they are incredible! The only thing letting them down would be that they aren't available all the time and I would love for there to be more 'everyday' shades. But other than that these lipsticks have amazing staying power, awesome bright, fun colours and are a great price!

Urban Decay Electric Palette (Review)

Urban Decay Electric Palette

"Beauty with an Edge"

Hello Beauty lovers!
Welcome to my first Palette review!
I was so excited to get this fun and vibrant palette out to
swatch for you all!
This is my first and only Urban Decay product that I have, and
it does not disappoint.

First... A little about Urban Decay.
Urban Decay is an American cosmetics company based
in Newport Beach, California.
The brand was founded in 1996.. and this year is their 20 anniversary!
UD is certified cruelty-free by PETA and the Leaping Bunny Program.

UD sell a tonne of different and edgy beauty products ranging from eyeshadow palettes, foundations, concealer, single eyeshadows, eyeliners, highlighters and setting sprays.

NOW.. onto my review

When I went into Mecca to purchase my first Naked palette, I was so excited.. but 20 minutes later and a lot of debating.. I walked out with the Electric palette.
It's so fun, vibrant and beautiful.. I couldn't say no!

How amazing is the packaging!

The palette comes with ten bright, fun shades with a mixture of matte and shimmers.
It also comes with a double ended brush and a large mirror which is perfect for on the go application!
Top Row: Revolt, Gonzo, Slowburn, Savage and Fringe
Bottom Row: Chaos, Jilted, Urban, Freak and Thrash.
Swatches are in natural lighting with no primer

Revolt- Bright metallic silver shimmer with silver glitter
Gonzo- Bright turquoise matte with floating tonal pearl
Slow Burn- Bright red-orange matte with floating tonal pearl
Savage- Bright hot pink matte
Fringe- Bright metallic teal
Chaos- Bright blue matte with floating tonal pearl
Jilted- Bright metallic fuchsia with blue shift
Urban- Bright metallic purple
Freak - Bright green with gold shift
Thrash- Bright lime green matte with floating gold pearl
All shade descriptions are from Urban Decay

My reviews will consist of reviewing the pigmentation, colours, application, packaging and price. I will then give and overall score and tell you where you can purchase the product!

Pigmentation- These shadows have incredible pigmentation. The swatches above have no primer underneath and are one swatch. I feel that the matte shades aren't as pigmented as the shimmer shades but are still very opaque.

Colours- The colour choice in this palette is great! I never thought these would be colours I would wear but I've come up with some pretty great looks with them. I love the variety of mattes and shimmers as well.

Application- I recommend starting off with little product as possible and building the colour up from there. If I apply the colour under my eye, I will use a hard or short bristle brush. If I am applying the colours straight to my lid I will use my finger, as it picks up the most product. And of course I recommend using a primer so the colours will last.

Packaging- The packaging is so beautiful! Its bright and colourful and I love the smoke effect that they've used with the colours. Its great that it comes with a large full size mirror so its easy to apply on the go! The double ended brush is a great added bonus. I love that most of their palettes come with bushes. The palette is quite light but its a bit chunk to take travelling.

Price-  I purchased this palette a couple of weeks after Urban Decay launched at Mecca Maxima. At the time it was $70. I find it a little overpriced but definitely worth it!

Overall Score - 9/10 Personally I absolutely love this palette. I don't get a lot of use out of it but its high quality and always fun to play with. The only 'negative' as such would be that the packaging is quite chunky and its not easy to take travelling if you have a space limit.

Where to Buy -

Australia -  Mecca - Currently $80aud due to Mecca's Price Promise

America - $49usd Urban Decay , Sephora

United Kingdom- £38 Urban Decay Uk , Debenhams , House of Fraser

I hope you all enjoyed my first review.
Please leave any suggestions below of what I should include or exclude from my reviews, just so I know what you want to see.
